FOUNDED: 

Charlie’s ¾ House, Inc. was founded in 1979 at 2121 Vine St., Cincinnati, OH.

LEGAL ORGANIZATIONAL and NON-PROFIT STATUS:

An Ohio corporation, Charlie’s was incorporated in 1990 and was approved as a 501(c) non profit status in 1991

PURPOSE: 

The sole purpose of Charlie's 3/4 House, Inc. is to provide acceptable and affordable housing for alcoholic men in the early stages of sobriety.

MISSION:

The mission of Charlie's 3/4 House, Inc., is to foster individual recovery based on the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous which if practiced as a way of life can expel the obsession to drink and enable the sufferer to become happily and usefully whole.

GOALS:

Charlie's 3/4 House, Inc., was conceived for, and is geared solely toward the homeless recovering alcoholic and the particular problems encountered in the early stages of recovery. As such, the goals of Charlie's 3/4 House, Inc. is as follows:

1.       To provide safe, decent and affordable shelter for recovering alcoholic men.

2.       To encourage and assist the resident to find gainful employment so as to help him   establish the basic financial footing to transition to independent living arrangements after leaving the shelter.

3.       And, most importantly, to provide an environment that is supportive of individual recovery based on the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous.

POPULATION SERVED/ ADMISSION POLICIES:

·         Charlie's 3/4 House, Inc., serves ONLY self-admitted adult recovering alcoholics and will admit all such men on a space-available, first-come first-served basis.

·         Non-Discrimination Policy - Admissions are based on the criteria above and are regardless of race, color, and sexual orientation, and creed, place of birth or natural origin.

RESIDENT CAPACITY:

Total capacity is fifty (55) residents

LOCATION and FACILITY:

The offices, meeting rooms and resident apartments of Charles’s ¾ House, Inc., are located at 2121 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH  45202. The dwellings in the immediate neighborhood (“Over the Rhine”) are a mix of row houses, many over 100 years which have not been renovated or updated in over 50 years. 

Our facilities consist of four row houses at 2115, 2117, 2119 and 2121 Vine Street.  Housed in these facilities are:

·         Seventeen (17) multi person resident apartments.

·         Two (2) offices

·         Two (2) Meeting Rooms
